‘Tree for Boston’ to come from Antigonish County

This year’s Tree for Boston is coming from Antigonish County.

Hugh and Liz Ryan will donate the 45-foot white spruce that has been growing on their property in Mattie Settlement for 30 years.

The tree will be cut down on November 20, the public is invited to attend.

The tree is the province’s annual gift to Boston for helping out during the Halifax Explosion in 1917.

It will be lit in the Boston Common on December 5.
