It’s election day in Nova Scotia and we could see some new colours emerge from the sea of blue in the Quad Counties.
Long-time MLA Allan MacMaster is not re-offering in Inverness for the first time in years, with his sights set on switching to federal politics.
He landed the seat in 2009.
That leaves the door open for someone new, with the Liberals, Jamie Beaton, the NDP’s Joanna Clark and Kyle MacQuarrie with the PCs, all fighting for the seat.
In Antigonish, incumbent Michelle Thompson with the PCs is up against Sheila Sears from the Liberals and John MacIsaac with the NDP.
Running to keep Guysborough-Tracadie blue is Greg Morrow, who is facing the NDP’s Deborah Martinello and George Grant with the Liberals.
The PCs will also try to hold on to Richmond with Trevor Boudreau up against the NDP’s Marc Currie and the Liberals’ Rochelle Heudes.
Voting starts at 8 a.m. until polls close at 8 p.m.
