School closures and delays for Friday, Jan. 31

Your children will be sent home early from school Friday, if you live in the Tri-County area.

All schools will send students home two hours early in the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education.

The centre says rain this afternoon will likely make a lot of roads extremely icy and very fast.

The schools will reach out to discuss how exam schedules are affected by the change.

Two CSAP schools will also dismiss students early, both Clare and Par-en-Bas high schools.

In the Strait Regional Centre for Education, two schools are closed: Fanning Education Centre/Canso Academy and Pleasant Bay School.

Back road closure plans are in place for Queens County, according to the South Shore Regional Centre for Education website.

Buses in the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education are only running on paved roads Friday. Students will be picked up and dropped off at the nearest paved road bus stop to their house, according to the centre’s website.
