Don’t get scammed on Facebook Marketplace

This is the time of year that you may be looking to score a deal on a second hand patio set. For sale listings for them have started popping up with more frequency.

Please make sure you don’t get scammed – patio furniture seems to be a hot tickets for scammers.

Some warning signs to look out for:

  • Price is low for the product (ex: $150 for a like new set)
  • They ask for a deposit
  • Pay attention to the picture – does the vegetation or setting not look local?
  • The sellers Facebook profile is very new or totally locked down with zero information available

Stay safe out there, Facebook Marketplace is like the wild wild west!
