Procurement for tidal projects in Bay of Fundy

Two vacancies for companies interested in testing tidal energy projects in the Bay of Fundy.

The province says those interested can apply for a site in the Minus Passage later this spring.

Consultant Power Advisory LLC will manage a procurement to fill the berths at the Fundy Ocean Research Centre for Energy (FORCE) near Parrsboro.

The process will start in May.

The Department of Energy will grant licenses and power purchase agreements with Nova Scotia Power to companies who are successful.

Nova Scotia has the highest tides in the world and according to the province, there is “great potential” to harness them for clean electricity, green jobs and attract more investment.
