The Town of Port Hawkesbury has appointed a new director of finance.
Longtime local resident Brian Luciano CPA, CMA is taking over the position and will also assume the role of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
The town says he is a graduate of Dalhousie University who “brings a wealth of experience in accounting and finance, having worked across multiple sectors—including regulated utilities, various industries, and eight years in municipal administration.”
He also has substantial expertise in information technology, human resources, procurement, and general management.
According to a release, Luciano says he is “very excited about starting his new role serving the residents of Port Hawkesbury and continuing to contribute to municipal governance.”
Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton states, “We are very fortunate to attract someone of Brian’s caliber, knowledge, and experience. Council looks forward to working closely with Brian as we navigate both challenging and exciting times.”
