UPDATE: RCMP identify man who jumped to his death in Aulds Cove

RCMP say they have identified the man who died after jumping off a steep embankment in Aulds Cove.

Last Thursday night, officers responded to reports of a man walking on Highway 104.

When officers arrived, they say the man fled and jumped off the embankment and into the ocean.

Later that night, officers in an RCMP boat from Port Hawkesbury discovered the man’s remains.

Police turned to the public on Monday afternoon for help to figure out the man’s identity.

In an update Monday evening, Mounties said they have identified him, but did not release any other details.
