N.S. RCMP officer cleared from child domestic assault allegations: SiRT

The province’s police watchdog has cleared a member of the Kings District RCMP from domestic assault allegations.

SiRT says it was May 23, was RCMP was contacted by a Child Protection Supervisor from the Department of Opportunities and Social Development Family and Children’s Services.

Officials from a school in the Annapolis Valley reported to family services that a child stated their father, an RCMP officer, physically hurts them.

The investigation was passed on to SiRT who says they “found no reasonable grounds” to believe there was a criminal offence.
