Suspect in Inverness Co. vehicle checkpoint has case adjourned

A Shubenacadie man charged following a vehicle checkpoint in Inverness Co. is scheduled to return to court in June.

RCMP say they laid drug charges after officers found cocaine, marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle in Mabou in September.

The case of Dwight Barkhouse, 34, opened in court in October.

Barkhouse, who has elected a Nova Scotia Supreme Court trial by judge and jury, was expected for a preliminary hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday.

It’s scheduled to resume June 19.
