New CAO for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough

The Municipality of the District of Guysborough (MODG) is welcoming a new CAO at the beginning of the new year.

Sean O’Connor will be the new Chief Administrative Officer.

He is a professional Civil Engineer who worked with the Municipality for the past two and a half years.

His prior role was Director of Economic and Community Development where he managed all the large-scale development opportunities.

During his time at MODG, he demonstrated extensive experience in team leadership, project management, contract administration, and community development.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work collaboratively with Council, staff and residents of MODG to continue to strengthen our core Municipal services, advance Council’s strategic plan, and focus on enhancing quality of life across our Municipality,” expressed O’Connor.

He has also held leadership roles in the Provincial Government and with engineering consulting.

“His proven record of public service and commitment to strong, collaborative governance will support Council, staff, and residents as the Municipality continues to grow and move forward with key priorities,” says the MODG.

“His leadership style fosters collaboration, excellence, and a team culture where individuals are supported to perform at their highest potential.”

The Municipality extends their appreciation to outgoing CAO Barry Carroll, who is retiring after 16 years of dedicated service.

Carroll’s leadership and contributions played a significant role to guide the Municipality through both major initiatives and sustained growth.
