Nova Scotia Glamping

I am Cailin aka the Nova Scotia Explorer. I was born and raised Nova Scotian with a passion for exploring and sharing all of the great things our province has to offer. From places to see, delicious dishes to eat, to where to stay and more. Each month I’ll be writing about great things all around Nova Scotia.

One of my “expert” topics on travel in Nova Scotia is staying in Glamping Domes. From the Cape Breton highlands to Church Point on the Acadian Shores there are Glamping Domes all over Nova Scotia.

These geodesic shaped accommodations elevate the camping experience featuring beds, bathrooms, kitchens and most commonly hot tubs. They tend to be fairly private and are often in secluded wooded areas, so you get the feeling of camping minus the sleeping on the ground, and no electricity.

Glamping Domes aren’t just a fad, they are here to stay and are a fun and unique experience for a cozy weekend getaway. The majority of Glamping Domes in Nova Scotia have one Queen or King bed, with chairs to lounge in, a full bathroom and often either a kitchenette or fully equipped kitchen. Be sure to check out the pictures and amenities offered before booking to make sure it has what you need.

I’ve never met a Glamping Dome I didn’t like. Here are a few around the province that I am a fan of and some of their unique extra features.

Starting in Cape Breton, along the Cabot Trail in Pleasant Bay there is a great glamping property to stay at known as True North Destinations, a 5 star eco-resort.

These domes are less secluded here however they are quite large and offer you epic views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

A few of the domes also have their own Nordic Spa circuits featuring outdoor showers, saunas and hot tubs. They also offer a micro health and organic market on site to guests with organic, gluten free and vegan options.

Stay at As the River Bends Retreat in Hantsport, NS.

Here they not only have two Glamping Domes but also have a Japanese spa area on site, a yoga space in their sun house and offer seaside dining experiences. You can also watch movies on a projector screen while outside in the hot tub.

On the South Shore of Nova Scotia at the White Point Beach Resort they have 11 domes on property. These glamping domes do not have large kitchens in them however they are of course connected to the resort where you can easily get a great meal at their restaurant or lounge and enjoy all of the resort’s amenities. They also offer one of the only accessible domes in the province.

In Church Point, NS you will find one of the most luxurious glamping domes in the province. Cozy Point Retreat.

There is only one dome on the property here and it is quite secluded with the owners home not too far away and is located right on a lake.

This dome features two king sized beds on its two floors. There is a nice lounging area inside, a kitchen with great amenities and an outdoor kitchen as well with a pizza oven, black stone griddle and BBQ.

The yard the dome is on is quite large with various places to lounge, a hot tub with privacy screen, a fire pit area, a floating dock and kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use as well.

No matter which glamping domes out of the 100+ available in the province that you stay at you will be sure to enjoy your getaway.

Happy Glamping!
