One Cape Bretoner, one Province & countless antiques: the road trip behind a new TV series

If you, like me, love a good treasure hunt combined with the thrill of discovering something weird and wonderful in a dusty corner of an antique shop, Cape Breton Film’s newest series might become your next obsession.

The Inverness production company has rolled out Antiques & Aspirations, a brand‑new docu‑series now streaming exclusively on Fibe TV (Channel 1 and the Fibe TV app).

Hosted by Inverness’s Donna MacGregor, the show follows her across Nova Scotia on a 15‑day road trip that took place in fall 2025. Not only did she discover hidden gems and meet passionate collectors but she heard the kind of stories you only learn when you’re willing to dig through the past, literally!

Donna chats with antique shop owners, seasoned dealers and collectors who have spent years hunting down the odd, the rare, and the downright magical pieces tucked away in rural communities. It’s part history lesson, part storytelling, part “Wait… why does that exist?” like an owl lamp she found!

“I found an amazing owl lamp that will stay in my personal collection,” she says. If that doesn’t say ‘successful road trip’ I don’t know what does (also – I NEED to see that!)

Where to Watch

You can catch Antiques & Aspirations only on Fibe TV, Channel 1, or stream it anytime on the Fibe TV app.
