Sony has announced that the price of the console is going up in Canada. That includes several models of the PS5, and the increase means gamers could end up paying noticeably more than they were just a short time ago starting April 2.
I went directly to the expert for details on why the price was going up, my 12 year old gamer. He mumbled something about the price of the parts.
Further research proves him right. One of the biggest factors is the rising cost of electronic components, especially semiconductors. These chips are in huge demand right now thanks to everything from gaming systems to AI technology. When those parts cost more, it eventually shows up in the price of the console.
