91 jobs cut at NSCC in new budget

NSCC may have a balanced budget this year, but at a massive cost for nearly 100 employees.

The community college says they have cut 91 people, but no faculty jobs were hit, according to a news release.

In about half of those cases, the employee either left voluntarily, their term ended, or the position was already vacant.

But in the end, 45 employees were laid off, most at the management level in the central Dartmouth office.

The college says they wanted to prioritize students amid rising costs and budget cuts.
