Mary Margaret (MacRae) MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Mary Margaret (MacRae) MacDonald announce her passing at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on Sunday, May 10,2026.

She was the daughter of the late John and Lillian MacRae and the last surviving member of the family.

Mom was a great cook and baker; she would insist on feeding everyone who entered the house at any time. She and Dad were huge fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoyed watching the games together. She loved her plants, especially her Christmas Cactus’ and African Violets. In her last years, she enjoyed the many birds, hummingbirds and deer when they came to her window at the Villa, that she always made sure there was food in the feeders for them.

Mom loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews with all her heart and she sure had a huge heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Lana (Jamie); grandsons, Nicholas (Rilley), David (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Evelyn ‘Evee’, Kacy, Ethan and Astoria ‘Story’.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Dan MacDonald; her son, Danny; brothers, Jack, Winnie, Stewart, Duncan, Gordon, Roy and Graham and sisters, Hilda, Leona, Lena, Mildred and Violet.
