Toronto overtakes Thunderbirds in first game of NLL final

In a third quarter comeback, the Toronto Rock managed to come out on top of the Halifax Thunderbirds in the first game of the National Lacrosse League final.

The Thunderbirds were leading 4-3 after the first quarter and they built on that lead, heading into the second half leading 9-5.

But things took a turn in the third quarter, and the Rock had tied things up, with both teams sitting at 9 points.

And by the end, the Rock had inched their way to victory, 13-11.

Now they lead 1-0 in the best-of-three series.

Halifax has the home team advantage on Sunday, when they play at the Scotiabank Centre at 7 p.m.

If it goes to Game 3, they will head back to Toronto.
