You’ve probably heard of Scotian Shores, but if not, they’re a group of Nova Scotians who organize beach and shoreline cleanups around the province! They’ve removed around 1 million pounds of garbage from the shoreline since 2020! They also host community cleanup events across the province, and now there’s a new app that lets anyone help track and log cleanups!
I spoke with Eddie Simmons from the organization about the new app, which is only on the Google Play store as of right now.
