Alleged pepper spray incident in Antigonish Co. results in three arrests

RCMP say an alleged Antigonish Co. pepper spray incident has resulted in three arrests.

Police say a verbal argument progressed to a physical assault when two males were sprayed with the irritant as on Notre Dame Ave. Saturday.

Police say an 18-year-old male, who faces one assault charge, from St. Joseph-du-Moine, Inverness Co., a 17-year-old male, who faces one assault charge, from Baddeck, Victoria Co. and a 16-year-old male, who faces two assault with a weapon charges, from Nyzana, Victoria Co. have all been released from custody on strict conditions.

RCMP say the three are to appear in Antigonish Provincial Court and Antigonish Youth Justice Court June 27.

They say the victims were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, but have been released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing; they’re asking you to report any information about the incident to them or Crime Stoppers.
