The Nova Scotia School Lunch Program is about to be available in all 327 public schools when classes resume in September.
The province says it means nutritious food will be offered to more than 133,000 students in the 2026-27 school year.
“Our government made a commitment to provide students with healthy, affordable lunches and to help make life more affordable for families and we are delivering on that promise,” says Education Minister Brendan Maguire.
“The full rollout of the Nova Scotia School Lunch Program is a significant milestone.”
The program launched in 2024, serving over 12 million meals since.
It started with elementary students before expanding into junior high and middle schools this past year, including more than 104,000 students.
More than 7,896,000 lunches were served during the 2025-26 school year.
