Free Canada Day transportation makes it easier to celebrate in Antigonish

Getting around on Canada Day in Antigonish just got a whole lot easier! This year, the Town and County of Antigonish are teaming up with Antigonish Community Transit to offer free dial-a-ride transportation to some of the day’s biggest events. It’s a simple idea that takes a bit of pressure off residents trying to coordinate rides, find parking, or just get from one celebration to the next.

From early morning pancakes to evening festivities, the service is designed to help people take part in the full day without worrying about how to get there.

The free transportation will connect residents to three key stops throughout the day:

  • The pancake breakfast at St. Ninian Place
  • Afternoon activities at St. Andrew Junior School
  • Evening celebrations at Columbus Field

With events spread out across different locations, having reliable transportation can make all the difference especially for families, seniors, or anyone without easy access to a vehicle.

The service operates as a dial-a-ride system, which means rides need to be booked in advance. Organizers are asking anyone interested to reserve their spot before 1pm on Monday, June 29.

Booking is simple:

  • Call or text: 902-867-0411
  • Email: acts.dispatcher@gmail.com

For residents looking to make the most of Canada Day this year, this is one less thing to worry about and one more reason to get out and enjoy everything the community has planned!
