Snowbird stunt planes flying over N.S. Monday as retirement looms

This could be one of your last chances to see the snowbirds, the iconic stunt planes, before they retire.

The federal government announced last month that the outdated CT-114 planes must be replaced.

They will be grounded once the 2026 flying season ends, and it could take until 2030 to get the replacement planes.

But at about 1:30 this afternoon, the team will take off from Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

Look up and you might see them as they fly over:

  • Peggy’s Cove
  • Halifax
  • Sydney
  • Baddeck
  • Port Hawkesbury
  • Trenton
  • Truro
  • and Debert

Check out these photos from the Snowbirds’ social media for the flight path:
