Springhill man dead in highway crash

A 28-year-old man from Springhill is dead after a highway crash.

It happened on Saturday around 6:40 p.m. on highway 321 near River Phillip.

Officers say the man was driving a Honda Civic when it went off the road and hit a culvert.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The highway was closed for several hours as the RCMP collision reconstructionist worked on the case.

The investigation continues, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is involved.
