Bugs Covering Your Windshield? Try These 3 DIY Fixes

It’s that time of year. Instead of scrapping ice and snow off our windshields we’re scrapping bug guts! Here’s three super simple and household remedies to remove the gunk.

1. Try a Vinegar and Water Mix

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle.

Spray the windshield, let it sit for a minute or two, then wipe clean with a soft cloth. Vinegar helps break down stubborn bug splatter without leaving streaks.

2. 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide and water

I can personally say this works really well especially on the metal or plastic of the front bumper. Just make sure to rinse off the paint when done!

3. Baking Soda Paste

Mix baking soda with a little water to create a paste. Apply it to stubborn spots, let it sit briefly, then wipe away.

It’s also best to do any of these sooner than later if the mess sits in the sun for a while it can make it way harder to come off!

Good luck, just remember this will happen all season long so try to just to see out the window and leave it at that!
