Update July 11: the 7pm screening is sold out. A 3pm show has been added for Little Lorraine at Strathspey Performing Arts Centre on July 30th!
——
Tickets are on sale now for a special fundraising screening of Little Lorraine, the acclaimed Atlantic Canadian movie filmed in Cape Breton.
The screening will take place on Thursday, July 30th at 7pm at Strathspey Performing Arts Centre in Mabou with all proceeds supporting the inaugural Unama’ki/Cape Breton Film Festival, taking place September 25–27, 2026 at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts.

If you go, you will get a chance to meet some of the filmmakers from Little Lorraine who will participate in a post-screening talk about the making of the film, filmmaking in Atlantic Canada and the importance of supporting regional stories.
“Film has the power to connect people through stories, places, and shared experiences. Creating opportunities for audiences to engage with filmmakers and celebrating local talent is essential to building a vibrant cultural community. The Unama’ki / Cape Breton Film Festival is an exciting step forward for our region, and I encourage everyone to support this fundraiser and help establish what I believe will become an important annual event for Cape Breton,” said Tamara Deverell, Academy Award-winning Production Designer for Frankenstein, and Co-Chair of the Inverness County Centre for the Arts.
Tickets are $15 + service fees and are available on Eventbrite through Strathspey Place until sold out. Click here to purchase.
