A man is facing a list of charges after a hate incident in a Halifax Costco.
On July 4, police say they were called to the store on Chain Lake Drive after reports of a man yelling offensive language to a family, shopping.
In a video circulating online, it shows the suspect allegedly threatening women in hijabs and assaulted another customer while shouting offensive language.
Thursday, around 3 p.m., police say they along with RCMP, arrested 37-year-old Randall Byron Publicover at a home in Port Dufferin.
During the arrest, he was tased after waving a weapon around. He was treated on scene.
The suspect will appear in court, Friday, to face these charges:
- Public incitement of hatred
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death (x4)
- Mischief (x2)
- Resist peace officer
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
Police thank the public who came forward to help identify the suspect.
