An unforgettable afternoon of music at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Sunday, August 23rd, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, starring Evelyn MacRae – affectionately known as Cape Breton’s Rose and a 2022 Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee – along with an exceptionally talented lineup of musical friends and collaborators.
Sharing the stage with Evelyn will be Sara Bennett, an internationally renowned singer celebrated for her remarkable vocal artistry; Michele Stephens, a jazz musician extraordinaire whose expressive performances have delighted audiences throughout North America; and Everett Vass, Cape Breton’s own “Singing Realtor,” whose love of music, his enthusiasm, and resonant voice brings warmth and an energetic joy to every performance.
This special concert will take audiences on a musical journey through many beloved genres, including Folk, Country, Jazz, Classical, Sacred, Celtic, as well as inspired Opera. The respective performers will present our favourite songs from around the world, with selections interpreted in several different languages, showcasing the beauty and diversity of music that transcends all cultures and generations.
