After eight months of investigating, police have now charged a 29-year-old man for the first-degree murder of Jayden Anthony Tynes.
It was Nov. 2, 2025, around 5 p.m., when 28-year-old Tynes was shot at the intersection of Cain and Clarence Streets in North Preston.
Officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds and say he later succumbed to his injuries, according to a news release.
On Wednesday, a joint team of Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP arrested a 29-year-old man from Cole Harbour.
He faces first-degree murder charges and remains in custody.
In a statement, Sgt. Shawn Stanton says this is a significant step in the case, but the investigation continues.
“We hope it brings some measure of comfort to Jayden’s family, who have endured an unimaginable loss,” wrote Stanton.
