A section of the Inverness Shean Trail will be temporarily closed Wednesday, to allow crews to complete underground infrastructure work.
According to the Municipality of the County of Inverness, it will be shut down until 5 p.m.
The closure affects the trail crossing only and is intended to allow construction crews to complete the work safely.
Municipal officials say the crossing is expected to reopen once the work is completed later in the day. However, construction in the area will be ongoing for the project.
The Municipality is reminding trail users that work crews and equipment will remain on site.
“Beginning on August 5th, the construction zone will remain active. Please use caution, obey all posted signage and follow any directions from on-site personnel.”Of
The Inverness Shean Trail is one section of the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, a popular route used by walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts throughout western Cape Breton.
Once the crossing reopens, users are encouraged to continue exercising caution while travelling through the active construction area until all work is complete.
