Beach Report For August 6th

With another beautiful summer day across Cape Breton and northeastern Nova Scotia, beachgoers have plenty of great options if they’re looking to cool off.

Port Hood is enjoying a sunny sky with an air temperature of 28°C and a comfortable 20°C water temperature. A calm west wind is keeping conditions pleasant, and with no surf to speak of, it’s a great day for a relaxing swim or a stroll along the beach.

Over in Inverness, it’s also sunny with the air sitting at 26°C and the water at 20°C. A moderate east wind is creating a little more movement on the shoreline, along with 0.5-metre surf, making for some refreshing beach conditions while still remaining very swim-friendly.

If you’re heading to Bayfield, you’ll find some of the warmest temperatures of the day. The air has climbed to 31°C, the water is a comfortable 20°C, and with no wind and no surf, the beach is calm and inviting under bright sunshine.

It’s a similar story at Pomquet, where temperatures have reached 31°C. The water is 20°C, a light northeast breeze is barely noticeable, and calm conditions with no surf make it an ideal day to spend by the water.

Meanwhile, at Point Michaud, the sunshine continues with an air temperature of 28°C. The water is noticeably cooler at 14.5°C, but light surf of 0.2 metres and calm conditions still make for a beautiful beach day, especially for those looking to escape the heat.

No matter where you’re headed, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day to hit the beach and soak up some summer sunshine. ☀️🏖️
