Criminality suspected after human remains found in Colchester Co.

Human remains were found in Colchester County and according to RCMP, the case is believed to be criminal in nature.

Police say officers went to the scene near Debert, after receiving the report in July, and confirmed it was a man.

The medical examiner is working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death and have had several searches to find further evidence.

“We understand there’s been rumour and speculation within the community, and that this may’ve caused distress. However, our primary responsibility is to protect our ability to investigate,” says Cpl. Mandy Edwards in a news release.

The investigation, involving major crimes, is in its early stages. No more information can be released at this time.
