HMCS Halifax begins Make-A-Wish Relay across Nova Scotia with local stops

A team from HMCS Halifax is once again lacing up their running shoes for a cause that has been making a difference in the lives of children across Nova Scotia for more than 2 decades.

The annual Run for Wishes returns this week, marking the 22nd year of partnership between HMCS Halifax and Make-A-Wish Canada. The relay-style run officially gets underway on September 19, with 16 crew members taking turns running across Nova Scotia in support of children living with critical illnesses.

The team hopes to raise $40,000 to help Make-A-Wish grant life-changing wishes for children and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

The route begins in Sydney on Saturday and will take runners through communities across the province, including Baddeck, Antigonish, Truro, Halifax, Wolfville, Greenwood, Digby, and Yarmouth.

Run for Wishes Schedule

  • September 19: Sydney to Baddeck
  • September 20: Baddeck to Antigonish
