The Canso Canal has re-opened to marine traffic for the 2018 shipping season.
The canal closes due to ice buildup in the Northumberland Strait every December, and re-opens in April.
That means the return of potential delays because of boats at the Canso Causeway.
The majority of the work as part of a $9 million project to upgrade the swing bridge and causeway wrapped up before the canal closed in December.
Some remaining minor work was scheduled for the winter months.
