Hwy. 104 at James River re-opens to traffic

A detour through Antigonish Co. on Hwy. 104 has been removed, and traffic is flowing through the area.

Officials with the province’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal closed the highway at James River for bridge repair May 4.

West-bound drivers had to get off at Exit 31 (Addington Forks) and take Addington Forks Rd. to Beaver Meadow Rd.; east-bound traffic was detoured at Exit 30 (James River).

DOT officials says the repairs are done, and that section of highway re-opened to traffic Sunday morning.
