Teen charged in Sherbrooke knife incident expected in court

A suspect from Guysborough Co. arrested after Sherbrooke RCMP responded to a knife threat on a school bus is scheduled to return to court Wednesday.

Police say they were called when four students were threatened with a knife on a bus to St. Mary’s Education Centre/Academy in October.

They say no one was hurt; the knife in question was a folding utility knife.

A boy, 17, who can’t be identified because of his age, has been charged with assault with a weapon.

He entered into the province’s Restorative Justice Program in November; he’s expected for a status update in youth court in Antigonish after his case was last in court in February.
