Man charged in drug bust scheduled for sentencing

A man who pleaded guilty in relation to a drug bust in Port Hawkesbury is expected to return to court Monday.

Avery John Sutherland, 23, of Antigonish was charged with a single count of possession for the purpose of trafficking after a Reeves St. traffic stop in January.

He elected a judge-only trial in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in April; he was scheduled for a preliminary inquiry in September, but instead entered a guilty plea.

Sutherland is scheduled for sentencing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court after the hearing was adjourned in October.
