The warden of the Municipality of the District of Guysborough says the people behind a proposed spaceport project in Canso are pushing forward.
Vernon Pitts, warden, says he met with officials from Maritime Launch Services and Lindsay Construction in the Halifax area Monday.
After Wednesday’s regular municipal council meeting, Pitts said they have a very aggressive timeline.
“They’re shooting for this coming spring, 2018,” he said. “I, as the warden for the municipality, I’d be only too happy to lend them a shovel to start.”
Pitts said everything was positive at Monday’s meeting.
He said there are a number of hurdles remain, but some major ones have already been cleared.
