Peace by Chocolate reps say they’re pleased with surge in demand

Officials with Peace by Chocolate say they’ve seen overwhelming results since their products hit grocery store shelves.

Tareq Hadhad, the company’s founder, says they sent their first shipment of products to all Sobeys locations in the Maritimes in November; Newfoundland also has their products now.

He says results have exceeded expectations.

Hadhad tells The Hawk they’re encouraged by the support.

“The reception of our products in all the stores were really beyond belief- they sold out very fast on our products,” he says. “That has been very exciting and encouraging for us- we really wanted our products to be accessible to everyone on the holiday season.”

Hadhad says they’ve added a night shift to keep up with demand; they started with 10 employees following their grand opening, and now have 25-to-30 employees, including full and part-time workers.

He says the shipments are definitely growing their name.

“Being in everyday products for everyone in the Maritimes right now, and we are moving to Sobeys (in) Ontario very soon- that means that we are really getting ourselves on the everyday list for the shopping for everyone in the Maritimes.”

Hadhad says they hope to have their products in Ontario early in the New Year.
