Woman arrested in Antigonish Co. drug bust changes plea

A suspect charged in relation to a drug bust in Antigonish Co. has changed her plea.

Leotta Marie Cameron, 66, of Frankville entered not guilty pleas to two possession for the purpose of trafficking counts and a breach in September.

Cameron pleaded guilty to two possession charges as her trial was set to get underway in Antigonish Provincial Court Tuesday; she’s scheduled for sentencing Feb. 21- she’s expected for election-and-plea the same day.

Police say members of the Antigonish-Guysborough RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit found marijuana and prescription pills when they searched a home in Frankville in March.

They say they found more marijuana and prescription pills when they searched the same home in April; Cameron’s case opened in court in May.
