Antigonish’s mayor says talk is steady about the upcoming Special Olympics Canada 2018 Summer Games.
The summer games start two weeks from Tuesday; they run until Aug. 4.
After Monday night’s monthly town council meeting, Laurie Boucher said excitment is building.
“There’s not one day that goes by that someone doesn’t come up to me and ask me quesitons about it and (say) how excited they are,” she said. “We have some Special Olympians within the town and county as well (who) are getting very excited.”
Boucher said town officials are looking forward to hosting athletes, coaches and team staff members from all the provinces across the country.
