Port Hood Beach Reopens

The Port Hood guarded beach has reopened.

Officials with the province’s Department of Environment closed the popular beach last Friday due to high bacteria levels.

At the time they said bacteria levels were at a higher level than the national guidelines for recreational water quality, and they advised it was not safe to swim there.

Water testing had been underway over the weekend.

The Nova Scotia Lifeguard service confirmed late Tuesday that the beach was reopened and safe for swimming
