Man arrested in Inverness Co. drug bust receives conditional sentence

One of two suspects charged in relation to a drug bust in Inverness Co. has been sentenced.

Police say officers seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Hwy. 105 in Port Hastings in Aug. 2017.

Martin Julian, 39, from Paq’tnkek and Ivan Isadore, 31, of Waycobah originally faced charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men pleaded not guilty in January; they were expected for trial in June.

Instead, Julian changed his plea to guilty; he received a six-month conditional sentence- three months of house arrest followed by three months with a curfew- in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday.

The Crown called no evidence against Isadore, and his charge was dismissed.
