Teen arrested following Antigonish thefts pleads guilty

A suspect facing multiple charges in relation to thefts at the mall in Antigonish has entered guilty pleas in the case.

RCMP say they received reports of a man who fled on foot following two separate thefts at Antigonish Market Square in August.

They say officers, with the help of a police dog, arrested a teen hiding in a grass field near Hwy. 4.

Police charged Isaac MacLellan, 18, of Antigonish with two counts of theft under $5,000 and two breaches.

MacLellan, whose case opened in August, pleaded guilty to one theft charge and his two breaches during an election-and-plea hearing in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday.

He’s scheduled for sentencing Feb. 27.
