The warden of Inverness Co. says boil orders have been very frustrating for customers on the Judique water system.
Those customers are in the midst of their third boil water order in the last year; it started in December.
The first lasted nearly two months- from Jan. 2018 to March 2018; the second, which lasted less than a month, was lifted in Nov. 2018.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, the warden of Inverness Co., tells The Hawk she’s been to two meetings in the community, and residents aren’t happy.
“The frustration was expressed by the Judique residents- that’s something we just can’t seem to avoid, because the repairs have to happen,” she says. “It’s taking way too long, but we are working on it.”
MacQuarrie says the previous boil order was weather-related, while the current one is the result of a major maintenance issue.
She says it won’t be lifted until everything is done to make sure the water is safe.
