A StFX hockey player has earned a conference award.
Blade Mann-Dixon has been named the AUS male athlete of the week.
Mann-Dixon, a goalie with the X-Men hockey team and Antigonish native, was between the pipes for all three of StFX’s recent wins.
He made 22 saves in a 5-1 win against UPEI in Charlottetown Jan. 22, he had 29 saves and was named the game’s third star in another 5-1 win against UPEI in Antigonish Friday night, and he made 38 saves and was named player of the game in Saturday’s 3-2 win against top-ranked UNB in Antigonish.
Mann-Dixon, who is 7-2-0, is third in the conference with a .917 save percentage.
