Pirates host Bulldogs in final regular season edition of Battle of Quad Counties

The last regular season edition of the Battle of the Quad Counties takes place when the Strait Pirates host the Antigonish Bulldogs in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Pirates (26-2-1), winners of nine straight and 21 of the last 22, have already locked up top spot overall.

The Bulldogs (17-13-0), who have won back-to-back games and three of their last four, are third in the Sid Rowe Division with 34 points, four points up on fourth-place Pictou Co.

Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they have an eye toward the playoffs now that they’ve clinched first place, but they’re not looking past this game.

“We want to find some chemistry with our lines- the last few weeks, we’ve juggled some stuff around,” he says. “We’ll try to find some line chemistry, work on our special teams, and just make sure we have a good effort overall.”

It’s the fourth and final regular season game between the teams; the Pirates won the first three.

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
