A StFX hockey player has earned a weekly conference award.
Chase Marchand, a goalie for the X-Men hockey team, is the AUS male athlete of the week.
Marchand posted a shutout in StFX’s 5-0 game one win against Acadia in their AUS quarterfinal series in Antigonish Feb. 13, then made 54 saves in the X-Men’s 3-2 overtime loss in game two in Wolfville Friday night; he was named StFX player of the game.
Marchand made 41 saves in the X-Men’s 4-1 win in the third and deciding game in Antigonish Sunday night.
He was named the StFX male athlete of the week Monday.
