Pirates host Blues in regular season finale

The Strait Pirates play their final game of the 2018-19 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League season.

They host the Cumberland Co. Blues.

The Pirates, coming off a road winagainst the Valley Maple Leafs Thursday night, have already locked up top spot in the Sid Rowe Division, and the entire league; the Blues, who will finish last in the division, will miss the playoffs.

Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk he wants consistency heading into the post-season.

“Come playoff time, you’ve got to make sure you play a full 60 minutes and everybody’s competing and working,” he says. “That’s what we’re going to focus on- just make sure we have a good, solid effort at home, and finish the season off the right way.”

The Pirates have won the first three games in the four-game season series.

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
