St. Andrews’ Declan Smith had an assist for the Screaming Eagles (35-20-5), who have won back-to-back games to sit sixth in the 18-team league with 75 points, nine points behind Rimouski for fifth, and two points ahead of Moncton and Charlottetown, the two teams tied for seventh.
Cape Breton has won six of the first seven games in the nine-game season series between the Maritimes Division opponents; the teams meet again in Sydney Friday night.
