Woman falls through the ice in Judique

RCMP and the Port Hood Fire department responded to a call when a woman fell through the ice in Judique.

Inverness District RCMP say a woman was walking her dog on the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail when her dog ran out on the ice and fell through.

Police say the woman also fell through the ice when she tried to rescue the dog.

RCMP say she was able to get out of the water on her own and the dog was rescued by the local fire department.

They say the woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Port Hood Fire Chief D.F. Beaton says another woman saw the scene unfold and called 911.
