Inverness Co.‘s warden says long-term upgrades to the Judique Water System are something municipal officials will likely have to consider.
Judique residents went through three boil orders in 16 months, with two of the three lasting more than a month; the latest was lifted in March.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, the municipality’s warden, says water customers in Judique are happy to have normalcy restored.
MacQuarrie tells The Hawk the water is safe to drink, but potential improvements may be necessary at some point down the road.
“The work that has been done has meet minimum standards of the environment (department), and they’re satisfied with it,” she says. “There’s no boil water order, and we’re going to cruise along like that, hoping that everything will continue to work the way it should.”
MacQuarrie says they’ll have to review all of their infrastructure in the municipality in the near future, and Judique is on that list.
